Mutitu Primary School, P. O. Box 533 – 00100, Thika. 26th – 01- 2014 Dear Sir/Madam, RE: Ready to commit suicide Hallow fellow Kenyans. I am TeresiahMuthoniKinyanjui. I hail from Gakui location of Kandara district of Murang’a County. I am aged thirteen and a half years. I did my KCPE for the first time last year at Mutitu Primary School, P. O. Box 533 – 01000, Thika and passed as follows: English 78A-; KSW 77-; Maths 79A-; Sci 71B-; SSR 75A-. A total of 380 marks. Recently, I received an admission to Moi Girls Isinya (a national school). My father who I understand was a former employee of Barclays Bank got sacked before I was born. After his sacking, he joined the ‘world’ of denial and became an illicit brew addict. Without any fear of contradiction, I am sure he does not even know me clearly. He is least concerned about my education. My mother who is a casual worker in the village, did not even bother to look at the admission letter. I had applied for the Equity Bank sponsorship but was not invited even for the interview. Surprisingly, I have learnt that my mother has made arrangements on how I am going to be taken to Nakuru to be employed as a housegirl. The date for travel to Nakuru is scheduled to be on 2/2/14. I am kindly writing to request any Kenyan with a human heart to come forward and assist me to access secondary education at Moi Girls. For now, I feel my future is blank and bleak. In a nutshell, if I will not be lucky to join secondary school through a sponsor, I will not be a housegirl but will commit suicide. Your faithfully, TeresiahMuthoniKinyanyui, Kandara – Murang’a.
