A POLITICAL MATTER TO OYO STATE GOVERNMENT Posted by Editor on October 20, 20130 Comment When Oyo State Governor , Senator Isiaka Ajimobi, sacked his cabinet a month ago, it was applauded by stakeholders and political watchers across the state because people see most of the members of his cabinet as unfaithful and set of people working for their personal gain. Fatai Ibikunle According to investigations by Integrity Reporters, one of the people that was found not to be loyal to the governor is Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, the former Special Adviser on Politics to the Governor. It was learnt that he was close to the governor due to the fact that he was Personal Assistant to the former Governor, Afenifere and ACN Chieftain, Late Lam Adesina, who died last year. Integrity Reporters authoritatively learnt that Fatai Ibikunle has created more enemies than friends for the administration of Senator Ajimobi because of the manner he handled things to the detriment of the governor. Our source says as a political adviser in the administration, he cornered every contract that the governor approved for him to patronise the politicians in the state so that they too could feel the dividend of democracy. “Fatai is a useless and selfish man who doesn’t fit into any position in the state” says one of the aggrieved politicians in the state who spoke to our correspondent. In anger, another furious politician queried: “Does he (Fatai) has any constituency?, he is a political liability, who only depended on Late Lam Adesina to survive. Even in his home town, Ibarapa, he has no electoral value”. Fatai was alleged to have bought several properties for himself within the spate of one and half years he was in government both at home and London. Among them are a mansion he bought at the popular Alalubosa area of Iyaganku G.R.A, a house in London, while he also bought a home for his long time girl friend in Ibadan among many others. A politician, who begged for anonymity, said he was one of those that destroyed late Lam Adesina’s administration, hence the reason the people of the state voted against the Old man. He, therefore, praised the wisdom and intellecual ability of Governor Ajimobi for. discovering Ibikunle’s antics which were meant to destroy his regime. He said people in the state love and appreciate the governor’s transformation agenda but he needs to be weiry of unscrupulous elements like Fatai Ibikunle. All efforts to reach Fatai proved abortive, as calls made to his phone number 08058481817 were not picked
