My 20 something daughter asked me a couple of years back how did we communicate in the 70s if we didnt have Facebook or smartphones , easy l said most of us use to meet at Brookside Cafeteria Saturday mornings, where with a milkshake and toasted sandwich or icecream waffles we would show off our lastest albums (mine usually Elton or John lennon ) and the decision was made whos party or which dance, Windsor or Ritz , or just predictable Gaythorne pictures or Keperra drive-inn .where we all would meet . I remember telling a few people at Brookside about my 19th birthday party in 1975, bring some friends with you , could not believe from word and mouth how many people turned up , glad police did not turn up that night, as my parents (thank god ) was on holidays in England, and my future wife turned up , didnt know it at the time of course, Picture was when we first started going out a year later cheers
