My 20 year old daughter Lily Ginnish-Lavalley is Anishnabe from the Cape (plus Mikmaq from Natuaqanek in NB ) & is now an Indigenous video game designer with recent surprizing news being selected the youngest Indigenous woman for a National Indigenous new media competition which involves at this final level only less then ten competitors in the final round for her video game prototype titled Warrior Woman -the Beginning series selected by a team of video game professionals from hundreds of submissions nationwide. Will provide more news update later during the fall as this is a couple month process & have to be confidential about details until mid Sept 2014 until others involved in the national competition are notified . She is so happy & very excited after 3 years of grueling video game design training/programming receiving her 1st college diploma just this past June (plus a couple more years to go in another enhanced diploma program) plus several scholarships past year.Now the start of her new career dreams are beginning to develop. She is amazing in her discipline, very dedicated & we can hardly wait to attend the Gala festival at the host invite event in late fall 2014. Love her so much as she has come so far with such struggle now reaping some of the early benefits. Emsit Nogama -All my relations ~ :)
