My 7 days of gratitude continues...thanks again Bbcrokka Bbc it gets the mind working right? Day 2: Its weird how your memory works when you start to look back on things you have done and cant believe you actually did it. With that said Im very grateful that I was a part of the East Cleveland P.A.L. Boxing team for the better part of my teen years. It really taught me physical discipline at a young age and how to eat and keep my body fit and for my coaches Johnny Duncan and Smiley as well as Renard Safo who because of his brother that I even Ended up at that gym. I never knew it then but I took with me a lot of life lessons from til this day I sometimes mimic my workout regime from when used to box and train daily for weeks I think I was fighting like 5 fights per month or so and it was fun. At 17 yrs old I even won a regional Golden Glove tourney which was very gratifying althought I lost in the State tournament just that accomplishment meant a lot. And yes Im still nice with my hands so dont test me. 2. Im grateful for all the bad shit I got into as a kid because if I didnt I would never know the true meaning of right and wrong well until it was too late. I mean me and my friends used to throw rocks a cars breaking dozens of windows and getting chased, we stole hundreds of dollars of candy from stores and jacked a lot of bikes we were horrible but I guess I got the badness out of my system at a young age because I didnt have any motivation to do those things or anything like it once I matured. My old old friends will remember some of these stories and say damn we were bad ass kids lol. 3. Im grateful and thankful for the discipline I received as a youngin too. My Dad rarely used a belt or a switch to punish me because his hands were so big that the belt would have hurt less. Although my father had no legs and was in a wheelchair (which Ill explain later) he still manage to lay down the law and keep me straight. Thats why despite the neighborhood I grew up in or all the crazy stuff I did I never had an arrest record or Jailtime. 4. Im very grateful for my good health, good life, and good fortune a lot of people are living at poverty level and Im blessed to not be starving or shelterless but its the reason I try to help then poor and needy much because you never know one day I could be on the streets.
