My 90s - There is a very special beauty about what Shannon Hoon and the amazing band of musicians in Blind Melon did. There was poetry and life spilling out of their music - life in all its grace, violence, melancholy, silliness and wonder. It was under this soundtrack, as if they were Gods presents, that I shared whisky and rhymes with my partner in crime, in laughter and in rock, Ro Ca. Hazy rides through sunny and rainy roads, leaving behind us a cacophony of old teachers and blackboards filled with incomprehensible Greek characters. And even today, after Hoons body and soul been recycled in nature, it is to me the eternal soundrack of Spring. A new life, even when rain clouds linger on. If time has forgotten Blind Melon, this treasure us few hold to heart is all that more precious. Thank you, Shannon.
