My ASD son Iain. Yall might know him as 15. He had a spring concert at LSU with his band mates. Hes the one with long red hair in a green alien T-shirt. Okay so the volume gets squirrelly at a few places, but it was a crappy recording. And if the picture wobbles, its because I was trying not to cry and cheer my head off at the same time. Iain was non verbal until nearly 5 years old. He has cerebral palsy and didnt walk until 28-months and then he had to use a walker. He wore leg braces until about 10. He wasnt potty trained until nearly 7. Look how far hes come!!! In the gifted / talented program for Talented Art, and scoring higher than a 3.0 while being mainstreamed in a Great Scholars talented academics program. We still have issues - but here, at this concert, he rocked and the whole band got a standing ovation. This was an auditorium full of music kids and parents who had no idea Iains bandmates existed. No one knew they were on the program. Share the love world, share the love.
