My Beloved Parents, Brothers and Sisters, about six years back, - TopicsExpress

My Beloved Parents, Brothers and Sisters, about six years back, submitting to divine leading, deep thought, extensive situational analysis and all-embracing consultation, I resolved to participating in the democratic process that would, expectedly, give me the opportunity to showcase my God-given attributes of touching lives and positively impacting on the communities. After days, weeks and months of rigorous and engaging interactive sessions and the appreciative years of legislative experience, which, to the Glory of God, lead to the consideration and consequent beckoning-on of a Consolidation tenure come 2014/2015 Peoples Democratic Partys Primary and General Elections, for the Kabba/Bunu, Ijumu Federal Constituency, I reckon that it is necessary to thank you, immensely, for ALL your support, prayer and good counsel all along in my political story. It is a fact that Kabba/Bunu, Ijumu Federal Constituency is blessed with abundant human resources, top-rate professionals and seasoned technocrats, who have recorded major feats, within and outside the country, in various fields of endeavor. The good people of this Federal Constituency are reputed for their first-class ingenuity, unparelleled hard work, un-apologetic sincerity and honesty, and entrepreneurial spirit. Regrettably, for too long, we had been left behind in the plethora of positive changes that take place in Kogi State and the Country. Since 1999, until my Inception into the National Assembly Green Chamber, the expected benefits of democratic governance had not been visible in the Federal Constituency. From Kabba to Obelle, Iyara, Ogidi, Ogale, Aiyegunle Gbedde, Aiyetoro Gbedde, Olle, Odo Ape, Iluke, Akutupa-Kiri, to Ike, it was the same sad and sorry experience. We had remained stymied by absence of federal development projects, non-existenct public infrastructure, mass unemployment of our youths and environment decay, which did translate to serial poverty and economic degeneration of our people. These painful and most un-acceptable situation, earlier and invariably informed my genuine desire and sense of duty to offer myself to serve my people, and contribute, meaningfully, to ameliorating their sufferings, and uplifting the socio-economic standards of the Communities. Over the years, I have consistently found favour in the Creator, such that at every stage of my life, God has bestowed on me challenges, position and experience, that have honed my community-propelled, society-driven and people-focused political activism, humanitarian gesture and ecclesiastic ministry. -feeling thankful :-) Hon Teejay Yusuf
