My Birthday Testimony Yesterday was my first birthday being at work and also fasting. For weeks now I had been trying to figure out how to celebrate on the day whilst both working and fasting. I normally like celebrating my birthday being outdoors in nature enjoying good food & company. With no solution in mind, I found peace in accepting that I will be starting a fast on my birthday and working. My birthday was a normal working day except for the times I had for prayer and the wonderful messages and calls I received (thank you all :)). After work I headed to Church for our evening prayer. As the service came to an end it was time for offering; I had a set amount I had already planned from home that I was going to give due to my current financial state but as Pastor prayed for the offering I felt I needed to give more. The amount that came to mind was the highest amount I could give and it was way beyond what I could afford. I began sensing worry enveloping me but I told myself that I needed to sow a Thanksgiving offering to thank God for my life. Without any further hesitation I took the money and put it into the offering basket with a joyfully and grateful heart. The service finished and as I walked out of Church one of my sisters came and gave me a chocolate as a gift (I was actually craving for that specific chocolate earlier on). When I got outside Church a big sister of mine came and gave me some money as a gift. I smiled in shock and in awe of God as I was not expecting any money. My mind had already started working on how I was going to go through the week with the amount I was left with. And God being God of more than enough, on my way to get transport, my Uncle who is a father figure to me called me and he also gave me money as a gift. The total amount I received last night SUPER abundantly exceeds the Thanksgiving offering I had given. Yesterday people kept asking me about a birthday cake that I didnt have. This morning I arrived at work and my colleague was waiting for me with a big slice of my favorite chocolate moose cake for us to share (didnt eat it though). As I settled into my office my friend walked in with a box which had a full slice of the same cake as a belated gift (my love for this cake is well known....lol). God provided me with a birthday cake in abundance. Lesson learnt - I can never out give God!!! Yesterday I left Church in a much sounder financial position than I entered and with my favorite chocolate secure in my bag. Today I received the most delicious cake slices....which I cant eat....for now ;) Ephesians 3:20 - Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]
