My Christmas Song of the Day for December 2 comes from an artist - TopicsExpress

My Christmas Song of the Day for December 2 comes from an artist who had so much to say, but not a lot of time to say it. After paying dues for a decade, including a self-released album in 1966 and one he did with his wife in 1969 on the Capitol label, Jim Croce finally broke through with his 1972 album and title song, You Dont Mess Around with Jim. On his second album for ABC, Life and Times, he wrote a charming song about missing his love at Christmas and hoping that they could get back together. In addition to appearing on that album, it was released as the B-side of the first single from the album, One Less Set of Footsteps. After he tragically died in a plane crash on September 20, 1973, Croces music became more popular than ever. One of the posthumous single releases was this song, issued with a simple picture sleeve that called this His Christmas Love Song. Unusually for Christmas singles in this era, this song made the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #64 at the same time that Time in a Bottle was #1 on the charts. Once in a great while, youll hear this one on the radio, but not often enough. Please enjoy It Doesnt Have to Be That Way. https://youtube/watch?v=wNmQr118fio
