My Comment: The amount of money the studio spent is no indication of their sincerity; it is every indication of how much they expect to earn from this production. - THAT! When the film was still being made, I read an article on a leading Christian site that was asking Is Hollywood Turning to Christ (or some other such ludicrous question) and my comment was that they see the result of The Passion of the Christ and the recent Bible mini series and recognize an opportunity to capitalize on something that can turn them a buck. Nothing more. They arent even trying to reach a Christian market (because if truth be told, many Christians sit in the cinema every weekend). Christians need to realize that Hollywood will only ever preach another Christ - the Christ that fits their narrative and wed do well to reject that narrative. We cannot and should not use it as an opportunity to share the gospel. The Bible told us that is the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony that has power, not pop culture and entertainment with a faulty message.
