My FB friends and family. I feel I need to share my recent experience with those of you who are pet owners and dog & cat lovers. As many of you know I have 3 dogs whom I love sometimes more than people. LOL. I have done my best to take good care of my little friends. I unfortunately bought into the hype of the new and popular dog foods. They state the are much better for your pets by being all natural, no by-products, grain free etc. I have spent a lot of money trying to do right by my pets. Well after about 6 months of this feeding regime I almost killed two of my dogs. My poor 19 yr old Ernie Boy has had 2 strokes, maybe coincidental, I dont know. And my poor beautiful Miniature Schnauzer Gabby has acute Pancreatitis. Her liver could not break down the high protein food. She is recovering, but it could have been fatal had I not realized she was in distress. So now we are all on Royal Canin, twice the price of the other food, all because I bought into the hype of TV commercials. As they state for us humans, please check with your Doctor before changing your diet, it should also apply to your pets. I spoke to a Vet student specializing in animal nutrition, she told me that dogs need the byproducts and some of the other ingredients that these so called healthier dog food producers are claiming to be bad. So again PET OWNERS BEWARE OF THESE SO CALLED NATURAL HIGH PROTEIN FOODS.
