My FLASH theory: The Man in the Yellow Suit is the evil Flash of something akin to the classic Earth-3, from the present day, and much like The Doctor and River Song, their encounters are chronologically out of sequence. Crossing between parallel universes is imperfect because Reasons. In 10 years, there will be a multiversal Crisis, complete with red skies. That worlds villains and hero(es) will rally in a doomed effort to fight the enemy, but lose. Maybe theyre even rallied with the heroes of other worlds. The one escapee is that worlds speedster, who escapes to our world, arriving in the past, years before Barry Allen gained his powers. He sees a chance to mold his counterpart into more than he was before by training him and creates the alias of Harrison Wells. The collider Wells creates makes Barry more powerful than hed been in a previous timeline and perhaps triggers the creation of these other metahumans as a side effect. I think hes genuinely surprised by the butterfly effect and maybe starting to feel inspired ... illustrating Grant Morrisons notion (in the JLA: EARTH 2 graphic novel, right?) that the universe affects visitors moral polarity over time, for better or worse.
