My Family were lucky during the war .. my grandad Albert was to old to fight so was a cook on the wormwood scrubs cooking for the Italian POWs my old man Nobby Farley was just a kid and did his national service in Egypt ( that he loved every min ) All the children were evacuated but my nan wouldnt budge and stayed in w10 with my mum who was 6 months old - she cooked Albert a decent dinner everynight cos he was alble to walk home from duty ... our lot were lucky think about those families whos boys never came home and those killed during the blitz ...
