My Ghana Mission Trip June 15, 2000 I was scared to death - TopicsExpress

My Ghana Mission Trip June 15, 2000 I was scared to death flying but there was nothing to it even though it was my first time to fly, I guess the lord has it all in control. Zurich is a very pretty city. I could not but help but notice all of the people here are so young, well most anyway. We met this morning and talked about what we are to do for the Lord in Ghana. Jim Corner is so a head of us in everything. What a leader! He wants me to preach Sunday night, I told Him I dont know if I am ready. But He said he knew the Lord would take over for me. I will do it! We have a 12:35 PM departure tomorrow and will arrive in Accra at 6:35 PM. I am really looking forward to this work our Lord has waiting for me. There is not a doubt in my mind that through His mighty powers we will do great things. What could go wrong with God on our side? June 16, 2000 We left on time, believe it or not! Again the Lord blessed us with a great trip. The only problem was, Nolan Tools luggage did not make it, just his small one made it. Swiss Air was a better air line to me, well except for the loss of Nolans luggage. I have now tasted Jims famous Mars Bars and it taste like Milky Ways to me We arrived on time and Eric (Christian Guide) and Liddia (Christian Cook) met us at the air port. I have never seen such poor poverty in my whole life. We are such a blessed nation. I think it should be a law that everyone should have to visit this country. Jim said I havent seen nothing yet. I sure understand now what Jesus meant in Mt. 19: 16-24, about the young rich man giving up his wealth. We sure are blessed. I wonder why God loves us so much; to bless us with so much wealth? The people here are very friendly. We walked to the SHELL STATION tonight and the people all said , Welcome! Big change huh? God wants us to be content with what we have, well we all should be very, very content. I can see my love for our Lord and our God is growing with every minute. It will be so east to bow down and give thanks to our loving Master tonight! We leave in the morning and start our work for God. I will close with one passage thats in my mind tonight (Colossians 3:17) And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. (NKJV) To be continued
