My Golden Age of Show Jumping Birthday photograph. I thought I - TopicsExpress

My Golden Age of Show Jumping Birthday photograph. I thought I would celebrate the Golden Age of Show Jumpings page with a photograph of past, present and future for its Birthday. Of course, I am the past having been fortunate to be a part of this incredible time in our sport. Nona Garson is still the present and was also on the United States Equestrian Olympic team in Sydney 2000 and Mclain Ward one of the brightest stars of show jumping in the world today. McLain Ward was born on October 17, 1975 in Brewster, New York toward the end of the Golden Age of Show Jumping era. He is an American show jumping competitor and Olympic champion. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Mclain won the gold medal as part of the United States team in Team jumping, together with Peter Wylde, Beezie Madden and Chris Kappler. Mclain continued to compete as an Olympian, winning the team gold for show jumping at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics with Laura Kraut (Cedric), Beezie Madden (Authentic), and Will Simpson (Carlson vom Dach) and McLains horse, Sapphire. Mclain has already won everything that is important in our sport and at only 39 still has an amazing future ahead of him. Please keep an eye open as I will be writing an article on here very soon once Mclain gets me all the details and photographs on his father Barney. Barney was a tremendous influence behind this young man and his incredible success. Enjoy the photograph taken yesterday of Mclain, Nona and myself while I was announcing the Turf Tour Grand Prix.
