My Grand Father of 98 years old will be featured with the Big Red Band in the Home Coming Parade tomorrow Celebrating their 90th Anniversary, My Grandfather at the age of 98, is the oldest living PHS Band Alumni alive today. He was featured in the News and Sentinel Last Sundays newspaper in the living section i believe it was. He will be in The Home Coming Parade right behind the PHS Marching Band which will be First in line in the Parade. He will be riding in a Red 1966 Cadillac Elderado Convertable I believe it is, Honoring him as the oldest living Big Red Band Alumni. We are so Proud of him and his achievments with this instrument he played called a sousafone if i spelled it correctly, and the many other accoplishments in his 98 years as a Man, Grand Father, Great Grand Father and every other title I can think of. He had many jobs and accomplished so much with his carrers over the years of his life. Prosperity in good times and bad times like the great depressions, stock market crashes to the Countries rise back to prosperity. The numerous Presidents,Wars and so much more, he is a encyclopedia of knowledge, a Master time piece ! The Band when he was at PHS won a contest and traveled to Chicago, and from what I understand he met and learned to play for some time from the inventor of that instument by a man you should remember from History named John Phillips Sousa, again if I spelled it right. I had to get this on my social media feed for my list of Family History and hope there is plenty more to come for him. I know this is so exciting for him at this time he has been going in circles with interviews, phone calls, visits from organizers, historians and more. Congratulations grandpa I love you dearly, enjoy your day ! Your Grandson Mike.
