My Grandfather, (4th from left with coveralls on): William P. Milewski Sr, in front of his milk truck at Balbonis Dairy on High Street. We always called him Dziadziu, Polish for Grandfather. He came through Ellis Island when he was 12 from Poland. Also was in the U.S. Army during World War 1. I remember him as a very hard working, quiet man who could grow the best vegetables in his garden and liked to tend the bar at the Polish American Veterans Hall on Green Street. I think the photo was taken around the late 1920s or early 1930s.
