My Grandmother Cynthia Marie Allen passed away yesterday June 18, 2013, at my home here in Warrior, AL. She passed peacefully at 83 yrs of age. She was a kind , God loving woman known for her southern hospitality and fabulous hugs. She never meet a stranger, cause if she did she would invite them for dinner and soon they would be family. Growing up ALL my friends knew her as Nennie and were always welcome. She was married to my Papa for over 55yrs before his passing in 2003. Together they had 2 children James R Allen and Margaret Moffett. 3 Granddaughters my sister Law-Crenshaw Tonnia, me, and my cousin Elyse Allen Bethel. 6 great grandchildren Amy Copeland, Ashton Allen, Kayla Bethel, Ella Smith, Olivia Smith, and Anna Marie Smith and 2 great great grandchildren Madilyn Copeland and Adam Copeland . She lived a long and blessed life. She had many joys including going to the salon, and most recently going out to eat mexican so she could drink margaritas!! Memorial Services for Nennie will be held at Fort Barrancas National Cemetary Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. followed by a a gathering at the homestead in Bon Secour.
