My Journey through Autism: Birth I decided to have another baby - TopicsExpress

My Journey through Autism: Birth I decided to have another baby when Madison was only 8 months old. I just enjoyed her sooooo much I couldnt wait to have another. It only took 1 try and I was pregnant. From the moment I found out I was expecting, I couldnt wait to meet my new baby. All I wanted was to see his little tiny baby feet. Everything went well with my pregnancy. I found out we were having a boy at 20 weeks. I was nervous because I had a girl and I AM a girl and I know nothing of little boys. By 38 weeks my baby had gotten pretty big and my OB/GYN decided to induce me. Hubby and I created a list of names, we were down to Devyn and Isaac. I remember sitting in the waiting room to be admitted, and looking at my list. I told hubby, I dont like either name anymore. They dont feel right. I asked him to suggest MORE names, which he said he didnt know! So I said OK lets think back to movies we have seen. Hubby is a smart ass ALWAYS!! He jokes and says How about Wolverine, or Cyclops? I say ugh your such an ass! We sit some more, and I ask, what were their actual names? Not their X-men names? He starts naming them off, Scott, Charles, Xavier, Logan.... HMMMMM Logan. We both looked at each other and agreed his name is Logan! Every little boy would love to be named after Wolverine! I got the epidural when I felt any pain. When I got to about 7cm, the pain came back!! SO I notified my nurse who went and got the anesthesiologist. They decided to just inject more pain med into the epidural port. I was sooo tired after all the laboring that when I began to feel my legs get numb I told my family to go grab some dinner and let me sleep. So everyone left. As I laid there, the numbness went up my legs, then it went up my stomach, but within a couple minutes it didnt stop. It kept moving upwards. I remember thinking it was strange, when I would breathe, it felt as if I were outside in the cold. I decided to get the phone and call my hubby and tell him to come back. I reached for it....and couldnt. My arms were numb. I laid there feeling paralyzed. Then alarm bells sounded and everything happened so fast. Nurses came running and were shaking my belly. My BP was 54/40. They were talking to me and I kept trying to talk back but I couldnt. Within seconds I was given a shot of Epinephrine. They shook me some more and gave me another shot. Finally I began to come back around. By the time family had come back, they had stopped the pitocin. I told my family that they tried to kill me and they all laughed not knowing what in the world I was talking about. By the time pushing began I could move my legs and FEEL EVERYTHING! I pushed and they realized from the stress, my baby had had a bowel movement. I kept pushing.. and yelling LOL. When he was born, I didnt get to hold him. He was moved to the nurses who began sticking tubes down his throat to clear all the poop he swallowed. It was a scarey couple of minutes. But in the end He didnt need anymore intervention and I got to hold him after about 5 minutes. When I was finally situated, our families came in to meet our new bundle. They all walked in and went gaga over him. They all looked at us and my mom said SOOOO what is his name? Is he a Devyn or an Issac? Chris said Everyone, Meet Logan. Logan William (William after my father)
