My Life Poem My life was a mess until I met you. I never thought you would hurt me, but my dreams never came true. I sit back thinking what the hell I did because, in the end, I still want to be a kid. I never thought my life would be so hard. Being in and out of juvenile hall hasn’t got me far. Nobody really knows my struggles. Taking care of a kid, I don’t really live my life. Although he’s a blessing, it just isn’t right. It always keeps me stressing about how I lost my life at age fifteen. Was it really worth it? God only knows how much I’m really hurting. I almost died once. You would have thought I learned my lesson. I was caught up by a pimp in the streets of Vallejo. He told me he would kill me and then I’d really learn my lesson. I wish I knew who I really was inside. I look into the mirror and all I do is stare. Sometimes I wonder why I am still alive. People always judge me but don’t even know my story. I feel like every day that I live I am just waiting and wondering if I am going to mess up again. -Miishawn, Solano
