My MCM ( Most Caring Man) would be my daddy Ted Damron. I dont have many pictures of us because I am usually the one taking them. Growing up, I always thought my daddy was so strict and never cried or showed emotion. I didnt realize he was just putting on a brave face and would go out to the building by himself to let his emotions out. Later in life, I learned even the biggest and bravest have a great big heart. He can cry at the drop of a hat. He is always there if we need something, he has taken great care of my Mom. Around the late 70s or early 80s he gave his heart to the Lord. After many years of playing music in the clubs and singing every weekend in the honky tonks, his talent was used for something greater. God called him to sing and then to preach. The greatest thing my dad ever did for me growing up, was to teach me that there was a man that loved me even more than he did, GOD. He taught me that no matter what life brought at me, I could run to the battle and didnt have to be afraid. He taught me that lying was never an option and that any conversation over 30 minutes would lead to gossip. LOL A man of few words and very little laughter.He would always try to fix anything that was broken down and could most of the time. He taught me how to be just and honest. He taught me that it is ok to be different. He even taught me how to pull motors and transmissions out of cars. One thing I can say, he has showed me how to love unconditional. That life and marriage is not always a bed of roses. You love through the good and through the bad. It takes work and many times biting your tongue and walking the other way. He taught me that when life gets rough to saddle up, get prayed up and prepare to fight! His favorite saying has always been, THE ONLY THING I KNOW IS CHRIST CRUCIFIED AND ROSE AGAIN.I couldnt ask for a better man to have raised me and show me that Christ is real. I love you daddy. I hope that some day I can pay you back for every life lesson you have ever given me. No matter how old I am,, I will always be your SISSY BURG!
