My Mom was a member of Calvary Baptist churchwhen she was a child..Her brothers were Deacons ( 3 of them )..I became a member in 1956..in 1961 I joined the Boy Scout troop 942 there..Uncle James Sechrist was the scoutmaster..we had 12 members ..later Calvary built a new church on Country Club rd..at 14 I earned my Eagle ...and the troop grew bigger and bigger..I continued to go to church there..Through the years I did not attend church as often as when I was younger. In 1977 I contacted the Paster and told him I was getting married and would like for him to marry us..he said Billy that is great and we set the date. The next day he called me and said he could not marry us..BECAUSE my new wife to be was JEWISH ! She was not an Orthodox Jew and had attended services with me on several occasions ..It was then that I realized that Calvary had become a Private Club posing as GODS HOUSE..have not set foot on the property since !
