My Opinion: Election Day is upon us. We cast our votes for many different reasons. Some of us will vote on Bread and Butter issues. Others will vote on basic human values reasons. All will vote their self-interest Those who vote on their pocket book will vote for smaller government and lower taxes with the hope of one day becoming indecent and wealthy. Others will vote to improve worker bargaining power and stronger safety nets for when they may be in need. Voters motivated by basic human values will vote on principles they believe candidates represent. On Wednesday we will come back to work some smiling others holding their heads. Some of us will be optimistic about our countrys future while some will be hoping we make it. What will be certain is that nobody will be right. Our country will continue to the greatest and all our problems will not disappear. What will also be clear is that we will still have more in common with our fellow sheet metal workers than we will ever have with the folks we castes our ballots for. Good luck to all, even to those who exercise their right to sit-it out this time.
