My Opinion: Judging vs Discerning: Is there a difference? Many Christians are quick to remember that it is a sin to judge others, and have confused judging with discerning. Scripture clearly states in Matthew 7:1 Do not judge so that you will not be judged. 2For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. So, are we judging when we warn fellow Christians about false teachers, such as Joyce, or the Osteens, Copeland, Dollar, Hinn, or the others who have invaded our TV sets with their distorted misuse of holy scriptures? NO!!!!! The Bible also states this in Matthew 7:15 Beware of the false teachers, who come to you in sheeps clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? DO CHRISTIANS UNDERSTAND, OR CAN THEY COMPREHEND, THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE FOLLOWING TWO WORDS: JUDGE and DISCERN? It is NOT our place to judge Joyce Meyers, the Osteens, Hinn, Dollar, Copeland, Hagee, and all the others who we most certainly should be DISCERNING of their false teachings. If you just love some of those named, and cant imagine their teaching anything false, ask yourself this, should I at least investigate for myself to see if maybe, just maybe, there might be something amiss? QUESTION If a preacher teaches biblical truth, getting some things right, but distorts in one area or more areas, should we just say to ourselves, oh, he or she is alright, he makes me laugh and gets it mostly right, should I be comfortable continuing to support him/her? We are living in the last days, Saints. We must wake up and begin to recognize this is the day that Jesus warned of in Matthew 24. Read it!
