My Papa left my house Sat morning to head back home to NM. He was driving his truck and towing the 57 willys jeep. He made it as far as MM 111 on hwy 550 in lybrook NM when the jeep somehow separated from the truck causing both vehicles to roll multiple times. He was flown to San Juan Regional Medical Center by flight for life. He has a huge scar on his face and a fractured lower back. Both vehicles were destroyed, I dont know how you walk away from something like that at 81 years old. He had called me when he was half way home ( clines corners ), then I called to check on him when I felt he should be home, he answered the phone from the crash site and explained that the jeep was standing on its nose and the trucks camper shell had flew off and both vehicles were totaled, when I asked if he was alright he said he just had a gash on his head and he didnt know why the helicopter was landing. He said he had been walking around surveying the accident. I spoke with him a few hrs after that in the hospital and he was just anxious to get home to watch the football games ( if you know papa thats par for the course ). He was treated and about to be released when the x-rays came back and they found he had fractured his back. They kept him overnight for observation. He is at home now. Thank god for miracles.. I know my Nana was looking out for him. He is one of the toughest and smartest men I have ever known. There is just not much he can not do. He said you can refer to him as scarface now... lol Love you scarface. Talk to you tomorrow.
