My Pixie has returned and balance has been restored to my Universe. Aloha Hive Camp in Vermont must be an absolutely amazing place. As the bus arrives; dozens of anxiously awaiting parents are met with the the bittersweet sound of campers chanting...Turn The Bus Around! Turn The Bus Around! As the bus door opens; I hear the familiar voice of The Pixie Queen over all the rest...Driver! Dont open the door. Ill drive this bus back to Vermont myself! After six hours on the road; the travel weary campers stepped of the bus proudly carrying their tall hand carved walking sticks and large black plastic bags containing 7 weeks of arts and crafts projects. The look of utter disappointment on their faces was chilling; yet classically hilarious to me . No smiles greeted us parents; as the realization that they were home and summer was nearly over, totally over shadowed any feelings of homesickness or excitement of seeing their families. NOT one; Im so happy to be home!, did I hear. NOT one; I missed you so much; hows my pet dog!, did I hear. The confused look on the parents faces were equally PRICELESS, as they were greeted with unenthusiastic half hugs and pats on the back while campers gave each other knowing glances that spoke volumes to the mutiny and bus hijacking that was just narrowly avoided. I chuckle as I think what couldve happened if these kids had just a few more blocks on the bus to really organize under the leadership of The Pixie Warrior - Sharpen those walking sticks girls, were heading back to camp. They cant take us all! - lol
