(My Portrait of Love) I was once a prisoner of love A love that the world can’t offer, Its essence and of its existence From life unto the grave Its seasons of gladness And the incomparable joy we profess Is the real portrait of love That nobody else can change it Indeed, its unfading crown of glory from this generation to the next Still, drawing people from one place to another, Celebrating the Oneness of life In a real image of what Christ-alike Sometimes, it appears, painful For it transcends beyond our human nature Under the prescription shows Of the intergenerational laws Sometimes, it’s a seal of fire Around the arena of life, Acts as an immortal Judge In the threshold seasons of trials The cries of deliverance, And the laughter of the scorners Will find justice-soon, As love works over and above our being The dynamic forces of its flames Convert the stony- hearted man into something else unspoken As it purifies the untarnished gold into a precious stone Kept as a treasure of a zealous person So, Trojan horses of the defender Are no longer an essential One For the love has stood up as a fortress Against the terrible assaults of the Mighty Conquerors by: J.
