My Reign Has Witnessed Massive Devt In Asaba –Asagba THE Asagba of Asaba, HRM, Obi (Prof.) Chike Edozien, says that his reign has witnessed massive development in Asaba since he ascended the throne of his forefathers on July 1, 1991. The monarch stated this during the celebration of his 23rd coronation anniversary in his palace. He commended the chiefs and the entire people of Asaba for their support, saying that leadership is not for one person alone. “Today is a happy day. I thank the people of Asaba for their support and encouragement. I also thank God for giving me the wisdom and knowledge to rule my people”. He said that he decided to make the 23rd coronation anniversary low keyed, adding that God willing, his Silver jubilee celebration would be a big event. The royal father lauded the state government for its developmental strides in Asaba and the entire state, assuring that Asaba community would continue to provide the peaceful atmosphere for government to operate, even as he solicited the support of his subjects in moving the town forward. Earlier, the Iyase of Asaba and Chairman of Asagba Advisory Council, Chief Patrick Onyeobi, while congratulating the monarch, said that his reign has indeed brought immeasurable peace and development to Asaba. His words, “You have been a leader and a fighter because of your background and exposure. You have tried as much as possible to make Asaba a home for all. You have reformed our traditional laws, particularly burial rites. Everybody is appreciating what you are doing”. While hoping that the new Asagba’s palace would be completed during the present monarch’s time, he wished him more years and progress on the throne.
