My Richie was diagnosed with Autism back in 1999 at the age 2, and the numbers then were 1-500. Today he is now 17 years old and the only thing that has changed in those 15 years, is that the numbers are now 1-68, more like 1-29.... and they have yet to Prevent ONE case of Autism, let alone find any real treatment or cure.....So this is me, Jumping off the Autism Awareness Bandwagon.....That Ship sank along time ago....People are aware, and they act in shock when they hear the numbers, and will go buy those blue light bulbs. Well Im here to tell you....those blue light bulbs dont help my family or my child. If you are really sincere and want to make a difference, then pay attention to what and who you are donating your time and money too. If they are not helping families like mine, or putting money and support back into the local community, and Helping Middle Class Families.....because those are the families that cant get any help or supports.....then you are part of the problem. I would like to encourage people to become part of the solution, and it all starts in our own back yards, in our own communities....You cant build a house from the top to the bottom.....and even if you cant help everyone, I guarantee you can help ONE.....All you have to do is ASK....and most of all, Dont forget to PRAY for our children and their families, because the prayers of a faithful man, accomplishes MUCH!
