“My Rocking Chair” is about the white, wrought-iron rocker on our back porch. It is where I often eat, relax, talk to loved ones, write poetry, or pray to God.. MY ROCKING CHAIR By Auburn Ponder Anderson I love my rocking chair. I enjoy sitting there When I am tired, Or I feel inspired To murmur a little prayer. It is not too large a feat To see why I love this seat. It’s like a good friend Who will gently mend My cares with its soothing beat.
