My Rubydooby is the big 0-2 today! I had no idea two years ago how she would completely and wholly change not just my life but also my St. Patricks day traditions forever! She has turned into such a big girl…talking more and more everyday. She can almost hold a conversation, with lots of baby gibberish mixed in…either way, she definitely knows how to get her meaning across. She talks constantly…says hello and goodbye to everyone and everything…from Donna the cat and the cartoons she watches in the morning to the breakfast meat and the house and park as we leave…the sun in the morning, the moon at night…the sky, the birds, the flowers…my earrings, my toes, her toes…its endless. It seems shes gotten louder lately, as well. Shes never been especially quiet, but not especially loud either…and thats changing a little bit I think because she just cant hold all that joy and excitement over every little thing in. She also expresses her anger/disappointment well when she wants to. The terrible 2s are in full force--everything is Mine, Mine, Mine…we got an Imagination Library book in the mail called the Mine-o-saur…perfect timing. Spring couldnt have come sooner this year…she loves the outdoors more and more…the long winter probably exacerbated this. I just love it that shes an outside girl. Nothing I love more than seeing those cheeks get pink from running, swinging and sliding. Ruby loves all the older kids shes constantly surrounded by and fits well into the group. Elly, Wyatt and Cass are the biggest part of her life and social circle and its so fun to see how she interacts with them all. She keeps up well and has so much fun with them, but also isnt scared to do what she wants if they lose interest or they dare to take something away that she feels is hers (or that she just wants, even if it isnt hers). I pray she keep this strong-willed personality trait and strength as she grows. They are so good with her and I feel so lucky to have them all around and to love her and to be as accepting of her as they are. We are in a great fun, exciting and joyful place with our Ruby. She lightens up every room she walks in and is such a source of joy to everybody she comes across. Happy birthday, my St. Pattys day girl!
