“My School –My Tree” Tree plantation programme was organized at Rashtriya Military School, Ajmer on Saturday the 02 Aug 2014.It was a great moment for the School to have Lt Gen(Retd) Sumer Singh, AVSM along with a few old Georgians & his class mates in his Almamater for the plantation drive. The other prominent Guests were—Shri Hanuman Singh Bhati,IAS, --Brig (Retd )Rajeshwar,AVSM, Brig (Retd )JS Soin, Brig (Retd )BD Upadhyaya, Col(Retd ) TN Upadhyaya, Shri RN David, Shri Hari Singh, Shri Uttam Singh .The cadets were told that trees help to reduce global warming by cleaning the air & are necessary and valuable to our very existence and that trees provide a variety of benefits including shade, beauty, water capture and food! Students participated enthusiastically in planting large number of saplings of different species over the barren patches of the school campus All the students led by the teachers and other children enjoyed the experience. Seeing such genuine concern for the environment was amazing. The aim was fulfilled easily because of the enthusiasm and energy that the children put in----Principal Col VK Sharma , Gen Sumer & Shri Hanuman Singh Bhati, IAS –also a Georgian from our school addressed the gathering by highlighting the need & significance of the drive & all the cadets decided to proceed with the same inspiration, enthusiasm and zeal to enhance the beauty of the school campus.---The Old Georgians feel that the school is a place to learn & grow --& the Georgians should feel to return the favour back to the school. Also on this occasion a survey of the School Community Hall & Temple was carried out & the team headed by Gen Sumer has pledged & decided to take care & move ahead for the renovation work. Both--Gen Sumer & Mr Uttam Singh very generously donated Rs 11000/ =Rs Eleven Thousand each, Brig JS Soin donated Rs 5000/=Rs Five Thousand & Shri Hanuman Singh Bhati, Commissioner Elementary Eduaction Rs 11000 /= Rs Eleven Thousand for the great cause of renovation of the Community Hall The school extends a Big Thanks to each one of them for this great gesture ----**--SK LAL, Asst Master. *****------------------**********-------
