My Spanish professor once told us in class how she delivered her - TopicsExpress

My Spanish professor once told us in class how she delivered her two boys at home while living in Honduras. She had one with the assistance of a midwife and one she did by herself. My mom had 6 home births with the assistance of only my dad. Ive always want to ask people like the woman who had her baby in the sea or the woman who had her baby in a stream or the people who share those moments with the world via social media what made them buck tradition and want to do things differently. Anytime you see these things go public you always hear a cascade of I would never do something like that, thats dangerous and irresponsible, why would anyone do that, its an intimate moment that I wouldnt share with the world etc.... Thats usually the general consensus so what makes those people who do those things different? I wish I could sit down and ask them what was the thought process that led them to go against the grain when its so not the norm. I have a tremendous amount of respect for free thinkers who arent bound by societal norms or standards. They just seem like fascinating people with unique takes on life.
