My Summary of Tonights Debate We cannot force or dictate our religion onto someone else because we have the power, and as far as I can see, SODELPA wants to make Fiji a Christian Country and I believe this is one reason why they wont win. Christianity is not something you force onto other people. Everybody, despite our different races, should be given to freedom to worship whoever they want, without having to feel like its a crime to do so. I also find it contradicting how they speak of Christian principles being emphasized onto every individual, and yet that very mouth talks about how the term Fijian should not be given to the Indians who were born in Fiji. Doesnt the Christian values teach us love and equality? For the 8 years of Bainimaramas rulership, my rights as a iTaukei has never been threatened at any time and I dont know why people are saying things like: Indians helped Fijis development, but Fijians should always be Fijians, and Indians be Indians. Why is everyone over-reacting over the fact that we are all called Fijians if we were born in Fiji? Obviously the iTaukei people will always be the rightful land owners, so calling everyone Fijians doesnt threaten your title as Landowners in any way. If you feel bad about the fact that we should all be called Fijians, then you are just being racist, no doubt about it. And despite other racist comments about putting a particular race in their rightful place, lets not forget how much the Indians have helped Fiji become what it is today. Do you think the iTaukei would have come this far without them? Never in a million years. Im making such bold statements as a iTaukei, not because Im trying to polish the Indian race, but because its a true fact, and over the years we have lived peacefully together, so why should we let a small thing such as the names we are identified by, ruin this relationship? Personally, I feel that the current government has done so much for the benefit of everyone, and nothing is going to change the fact that Im going to vote for Fiji First. Hearing rumours about Fiji First and what everyone else has to say, is not going to change anything. I have eyes of my own and I can see that this government has done so much for me personally as a Fijian citizen, and for that Im forever grateful. Never in the history of Fiji has any government taken such a huge step to pay for childrens school fees and bus fares and this is something every parent should be grateful for. Now we can all say things like Well the money used to pay for my school fees is still paid by my parents because they pay TAX, then ask yourself the question, when previous governments were in power, did any of them see that your parents TAX money was used on you? Again the answer is NO. So lets be thankful for whatever this government has done for us rather than picking on their faults Many other people are talking about the how the GCC no longer stands and how it threatens our cultural values as indigenous Fijians. Now this is such a lie. First of all, no institution, government body or private entity can protect your cultural values. The protection and upholding of your cultural identity and cultural values totally depends on you as an indigenous Fijian. Without the presence of the GCC, it doesnt mean you have to stop practicing your values as a Fijian does it? Exactly. After having said all that, I have so much confidence that Fiji First is going to take Fiji forward at the rate it is going now, and for the sake of continuity Im going to vote for them :) All the best to the other parties and may God Bless Fiji :) #JustDrake
