My Taxi Uncle Story Today: I lectured Taxi Uncle about not wanting his hard earn money going to casinos and to stop gambling! Yea...kpo right :) Conversation started because I was pissed off at 2 previous cabbies who had stop. One scolded me as he said he was going to Tampines so I scolded him back...like how the hell am I supposed to know?! He was annoyed as he felt he had wasted his time stopping for me! Yea WTF right. 2nd one only spoke Chinese. A PRC origin. He couldnt understand North Bridge Road or any other directions in English. I was pissed off. How did he pass the tests? And I grumbled to Taxi Uncle that he not only didnt know any of the streets or directions in English. ..but didnt he have GPS?! I swear. ... prefer taking buses nowadays! Less annoying. So during conversation, Taxi Uncle asked me, of course, what I did for a living. And asked me if I go to the casinos. Im like...eh....I dont have money to gamble away! So he said I was smart to not gamble. So yea I lectured him not too as well ;) . He remarked that I was nice as I bothered to talk to him as some people felt they were too good or cab drivers were beneath them and wont converse with them. I was like...eh, were all the same working for a living, whats there to be proud about? So yea....say hi and thank Taxi Uncles if theyre nice ok? But honestly waiting for cabs nowadays can give me high blood pressure. Dont stop, choosing and with the highest concentration of cabs in the world - there is never one around. Only if you book or call. Ridiculous. If I wasnt lugging heavy laptop n all....I would grab buses. Save $$$ and less aggravation.
