My Testimony - Part 2 In the Spring of 2011, I was finishing my first semester in the Social Work program at PSU, when I began experiencing the most pain that I had ever felt in my life. No amount of pain medicine would dull the pain in my legs. Eventually, I ended up being life flighted to KU Medical Center in Kansas City. My family doctor told Connie not to expect me to make it through the weekend because he thought I was in the final stage of leukemia. The Specialists at KU ruled out leukemia but were baffled by my condition. After my first surgery which was unsuccessful in bypassing the clogged arteries in my left leg, I was laying in my hospital bed trying to come to grips with the news that my left leg was going to be amputated. I called Connie like I did every night and I told her I needed to talk to our Pastor. Connie said it was too late and she would call him in the morning. Before I turned out the light, I turned off the television and started praying. Before I could finish my prayer the phone rang. I answered it and it was Pastor. We talked and prayed together and I felt a peace come over me that I had never felt before. The next morning Connie called and I thanked her for calling Pastor. Connie responded that she had not called him yet, but she would in a little while. I told her about his call and she was adamant that she had not called him. A few days later while I was still in the hospital, I was thinking to myself or maybe God was whispering to me that I really needed to speak to Pastor. At that moment, Pastor walked into my room. He was in Kansas City for a doctors visit and stopped to check in on me. When I spoke with Pastor about it later, he said that Connie had not called him but that the Lord had let him know of my needs. I was in need of strength and peace to overcome the next few weeks as I underwent a few more procedures including the amputation of both legs below the knees. These events helped further restore my faith in God!! This was only the beginning and God has much more in store for me.......TO BE CONTINUED!!
