My View On The Current Development In Unizik. Environment. - TopicsExpress

My View On The Current Development In Unizik. Environment. Let me start with a welcoming tone, how was your xmas and new year holis, hope memorable, cos mine was too. I Cmr. Ojukwu-CSO left Awka on the fall of 31st Dec and came back on the rise of 3rd Jan. It was all good for me. Between 23rd and 28th Dec, series of meetings were held within and outside the school premises on how to move the school, students and the union forward, and I really saw the zeal both on this new excos and existing fellow Comrades to move this Institute forward with an awesome enthusiasm. I heard of a lot of plans which when accomplished will only make life better for students at large, ranging from: #Transportation #Feeding #Accomodation #Hostel Dues #Proper Representation Etc. Believe me, I was so happy that at last we are going to have the spirit of unionism back. But let me ask, what is UNIONISM?, if you digest the tone with which you pronounce that word, you will feel the meaning therein. To me its simply the act of carrying people along, and to our case study here which is UNIZIK, it means carrying the Students, Landlords, NEPA, Food sellers, Drivers, All Comrades, Lecturers, Non-Acad Staff Etc along. Believe me, its a tidious task to govern people of diverse culture, orientation and understanding. And so far I will tender my unreserved gratitude to His Excellency Cmr. Noble Eyisi and his unsumountable fellow excos, the Unbiased newly inaugurated Judicial judges, the hounourable members of the SRC, all Comrades at large. Your efforts will never go unnoticed. I hope we all have heard of the new development in transport sector, the reduction of T-fair to #20. On behalf of the entire Students who are my close friends, sci. Village students we appreciate the President. When this development was ongoing, I was indirectly asked of my own humble opinion, which I tendered as below; Please we all know the new development in petroleum sector, the hike in PMS, which is the direct product widely used by transporters. And not withstanding that 65% of those drivers are our CEP Students who are struggling to make ends meet, why starting this Administration with there discomfort?. We. Should commence with programs that will unit the entire sector together like Seminars, Radio talk shows, and activities that will bring the prescense of private sectors closer to our Students, not putting a fight between the Students and Drivers which are either Students or Parents to the Students. All of Us are not born with equal opportunity. If my father where to be a Driver within the school environment, I will still maintain this stand. Now here is my candid advise: 1. Wait until the price of PMS subsides, then the reduction can commence. 2. If you must reduce this T-fair, then first, make them believe that the TTF is lifted. 3. If you must reduce this T-fair, then first, engage on a mutual conversation with the affected people(drivers) before its commencement not after. 4. If you must engage in this, why not first discuss it with your fellow Comrades and Former DOT personel. For all I represent is Peace And Harmony ”. Longlive the Students ! Longlive the 2014/2015 SUG Excos !! Longlive my fellow Comrades in service !!! Yours in Service: Cmr. OJUKWU-CSO. Please check the full article on ykonnect.blogspot and dont forget to rebroadcast
