My Visit to Nigeria Zuma Rock: Zuma Rock, located at the borders of Abuja 107 kilometres from Minna along Abuja-Kaduna highway is popularly referred to as the “Rock with human face” based on the features of human resemblance on the imposing rock. The rock had earlier generated controversy between the Niger State Government and the Federal Government as the former accused the latter of attempting to lay claim to ownership of the rock by inscribing it on the nation’s currency. Zuma is depicted on the 100 naira note. It was used for a defensive retreat by the Gbagyi people against invading neighbouring tribes during inter-tribal warring.
