My Walk With God! Some see it as snow, some see it as storm. But today, I see it as Blessing in the Snow Storm - BECAUSE YOU WALK WITH ME! 1/9/2015- The third or fourth time Buffalo get hit with horrific winter snowstorm. I was schedule to work at 6am, not anticipating driving into a total white out, inside the darkness. I cannot even determine if the road is for car or for pedestrian. It was horrifying as the visibility beyond 3 feet is ZERO. As I continue my journey, I don’t know where I was, and where I am going. I felt like a sheep lost in the wilderness; frantic and freezing. What am I going to do? Turn back or continue to move forward? Am I going to reach the destination safe? “I need light, God, I need light”, I Prayed. The wind blew the white-out aside, and there I saw 2 very dim light blinking. It was a car in front of me. I hurry to follow the lights, knowing that I can’t possibly crash into the sidewalk if following his path. A song came up in my mind as I drive…. BECAUSE YOU WALK WITH ME! youtu.be/gAcJPhD4yzE “Because you walk with me, I will not be alone” Yes, at this very moment, nothing can provide me the peace and comfort: not my career, not my money in the bank, not my family & friends, but GOD Himself. Just when I was mesmerizing on God’s promise, this car ahead of me turned left. I was troubled and confused for a minute… A VERY LONG minute, and then the SUV truck with brighter lights came by. This time is different. For some reason, I felt the confidence that this car will lead me to the final destination safe. As I pray, I experience the power of God’s word. In John 8:12 “Jesus said, I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. Yes, I am following you CLOSELY. Thank The Lord. His word has such a power that takes away my fear. I am not alone. I know God is with me. All I need to do is to follow him closely. So, When the car moved faster, God saids, “BE COURAGEOUS, Step on that Accelerator and GO!” When the car slowed down, God saids, “BE Still” When the traffic lights turned yellow, hustle along There are few moments of white out, but I KNOW that I would not go astray if my eyes are fixed on that dim light. As I head down the Main Street, I saw people walking in the freezing cold. What a blessing to have a car that functions. There are so many people who are less fortunate than we are. They reminded me of God’s word in Phillipians. “The secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want” We are already the blessed one and should be content in what was given to us. God once again demonstrated the Power of His Words – where I can redeem with the Key of Prayer in my hand. Isnt that what GOD wants of us in our faith? and if our life? When we cannot see what is ahead of us, (career, marriage, kids, etc) God said, Fix your eye onto Jesus. When you gone astray, He guided you with Light in front of your feet. When he goes faster, he wants us to put on the courage to catch up to him. When he slows you down, have the patience to be still, slow down, and really SEE that GOD has always been blessing you. As one poem saids, It is beautiful up on the mountain, but it is in the valley do I really learn to grow. My Blessing in Disguise! Helen
