My baby had 2 bruises the size of baseballs when picked up from the baby sitters house yesterday afternoon. One knot was on his forehead and the other on his lower back. He also had various other bruises all over his body and I freaked out. He had spent the night at his in-laws house the night before. When calling them they said he (Jonah) was fine when he left their house and we picked him up. WRONG. So I snapped stupid for a few minutes. We took the one year old to East Ridge Hospital....FIRST MISTAKE. The E.R.doctor, Dr. Gracy, said the bruises were consistent with abuse. Referred Child protective services and Georgia DFACS as an abuse case. Now Michael was LIVID and thinking reallyyyyyy crazy. Here we have a 1 year old who was really groggy and bruised all to hell. You can imagine what I was thinking ! So, we called the in-laws and raised hell. When I say we....I mean ME. After 4 hours, xrays, more xrays.....nothing was abnormal. Just a lot of Bruises and a lot of bruises under the skin. East Ridge ordered an emergency transfer to T.C Thompsons childrens hospital. By ambulance. I was shaking like a whore in church....prison was about 2 hours away. I was mentally preparing for the ugly to rise again. All the while praying for God to give me strength, Times like these is when we feel the presence of God the least...so we think. Yet, this is when He is with us the MOST...as I found out. When we got to Tc Thompsons the inlaws had shown up...worried also about the baby. So I just kept still and PRAYED they werent responsible. Within 5 minutes a doctor looked at the baby and said he had erythomo...blah...blah...blah. Causes were side effects of antibiotics the week before for an ear infection. Makes many bruises that keep changing colors. It has to run its course ??? Imagine that. When I asked why the ER at east ridge had NO CLUE....the doctor said...You took a Mercedes to a Honda dealer. She said dont take kids there. Thats what they are for. SHE IS RIGHT. So. Jonah is alive and well. And I appologized for snapping on them without KNOWING what was wrong. Being in prison for several years had me seeing and hearing a lot of horrible things people did to kids. I had a special sensibility about kids and the punishment some go through. I tend to go to an extreme.....well......I was wrong. I released my trust in God over this...and I got my butt handed to me. Michael
