My best friend got arrested on some warrant for a violation of probation. He is looking at 5 years. Kinda sad. This is a man who we fought for years and for many good reasons, and this man has done more wrong to most people who have let him close...but the last month we have spent every day together and gone through lots of forgiveness and even into a state of brotherhood unachievable by even blood...and now he is gone. Whisked away...Im just glad we were able to reconcile and be friends to show the world that despite what one has done to one, it can be overcome and people can change...despite the fact that he got picked up tonight, he has changed much and is not the man I loved and then hated once before...these are the people who need chances and prayers...the ones who can be put out and judged unjustly and misunderstood and forever be suspect...we need to change that. We need to learn how to know our neighbors and why they do things, not just look at whats been done. We doom ourselves to being only partially joyful when we hold grudges and cant forgive. We cut ourselves off from having truly meaningful and lasting relationships over holding onto pain and past...when we let go, we move on into a realm where we can experience love and joy in ways we couldnt imagine, simply because we helped heal a heart that can become grateful and maybe be the best friend you could ever ask for...
