My biggest truth right now: listen once you wake up you can’t go back to sleep. i’ve lost friends and family over me becoming more conscious and aware and holding myself and other people accountable for the difficult, oftentimes painful and humbling process that is unlearning oppression. i used to feel bad about it, i felt othered and strange and i hated always being “that girl” the one that ruins the joke, the one that doesn’t laugh along, the one that doesn’t vehemently agree with people i look up to and respect and want to be liked by. but honestly after a while you gotta let the shit go. be that girl. it’s all good, cause there’s a world of that girls. you standing with a league of extraordinary women who were also that girl when they started asking questions and deviating from the norm. i’d rather rub shoulders with revolutionary thinkers than everybody else. it’s a small, exclusive, oftentimes isolating group but you will find your niche and you will find people who are vibrating on the same emotional and spiritual frequency as you. and those bonds? those friendships? those love affairs? man let me tell you they go deeper than anything you’ve ever known
