My brother and I are 16 years apart, with him being the oldest. And our lives are diametrically different. We live an hour apart from each other and we were never just close like many siblings. I cried many days and became angry because we hardly talked and hardly saw each other, I honestly felt he didnt care. My mom talked to him all the time but not me!!!! One day My husband said to me, baby just pray, stop worrying about it, its going to work out. So I started praying and expressing the void not only in my life but my kids life, because not only did I want my big brother my babies wanted their uncle. But since my mom has been sick we talk everyday, hes been over more times recently than he has been all year,and my mom noticed it all yesterday. She said its sad I had to get sick for yall to become close, but Im so happy that yall are. I know it was bothering her too because she loves us both and wanted us to be closer than we were. My point is when we pray we never know how the prayer will be answered!!! Do I like that my mom had to become sick for us to bond? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!! But Im glad that even though he may not be around to do as much leg work and running with mom like me, he is with me emotionally and very supportive. I want to cry because now I can truly say MY BIG BROTHER and I are closer than ever before! God does some amazing stuff even during adverse circumstances.
