My brother in law was a patient just like this, on a board for 2 or 3 yrs. Much like the one on the left, bowing up in the middle. His head was strapped down as well, as, they had removed shin bone to replace part of the affected neck bone. They had to leave him there alone and only visit about once a month, it was all they could afford to do. Sad days for the Bryants during those times, no doubt. Two home town Doctors, had offered to keep him and put him out of his misery prior to referral to Scottish Rite Hospital, in Dallas. I cant even phantom such remarks from a Doctor!
