My calling to the ordained ministry came while I was in undergraduate school, participating in a Bible Study. The words of Ephesians 3:7-9 leapt off the page, took ahold of my life, and I have never been the same since. At first I struggled against the calling, trying to convince God that God had the wrong person, or that my calling was to teach but not to preach or serve as a pastor. With each step that I took into ministry, however, God progressively reveled to me that my calling was to proclaim to all people the unsearchable riches of Christ and to be part of revealing our joint participation in the mystery of Christs presence in the Sacrament of Holy Communion. After two decades of ministry, serving in Churches across the North Texas Conference of The Untied Methodist Church, I am more sure than ever that I am doing what God has called me to do. I praise God for this ministry which I have been given, and for the humbling honor of serving as the pastor of my flock.
