My current coffee extraction ritual, a la Aeropress: BEANS: 6g Kunga Maitu Kenya (Intelligentsia) 6g Sugar Glider Espresso (Intelligentsia) 6g Burundi Ngozi (Starbucks) GRIND: very fine drip, i.e. large espresso (1.25 turns of the OE Lido) WATER: 240g filtered, just off the boil, ~200F (3 minutes in the microwave) METHOD: * add freshly ground coffee to inverted Aeropress * add 50g water, stir until grounds are saturated, no lumps * add remaining water, stir, cap w/ S Filter (Kaffeologie) * wait 2 minutes, and press I like this blend because the it provides good coverage of the taste & aroma spectrum. The Kenya is sweet & fruity, the Sugar Glider is sweet & nutty, and the Burundi is pungent & chocolaty. Regarding grind, I may increase size to get a smoother flavor. If so, will probably increase steep time too.
