My current exhibition UNDER OBSERVATION is accompanied with this written piece which tries to describe the stimulus behind my images. There is little, if any construction of the images here other than to set them in my lens. Any aesthetic is within the image itself, whether that is in the composition, or the shape and form of the subject, or from what nature has created, it is not from any skill of the photographer. Too frequently because we are so busy and distracted in our preoccupied lives, we dont stop to see, so we miss the opportunity to fully appreciate the infinite capacity, intensity and wealth of beauty of life that surrounds us; and that which is within us. My presentation here focuses on sight which is but one of our primary senses that we exercise with so little awareness. Our hearing, taste, sense of smell and touch are continuously being diluted and sub-consciously numbed by the world we live in. And more vitally important, so too are out emotions and feelings. When this happens we begin to lose our connection with ALL OF LIFE By reawakening our awareness we can be reacquainted with them, to begin to reach a level of consciousness that achieves a fuller, better understanding and enjoyment of life. If there is any intent accompanying this exhibition, it is to provoke the observer to look closer within themselves and to see the beauty that is always surrounding us, and within us.
