My dad shared a story with me today that I have never heard him - TopicsExpress

My dad shared a story with me today that I have never heard him tell before about a very special local church here in Holdenville: My great great grandfather, Mr. Bowen was sitting on his front porch with my dads grandmother, Elsie (Mr. Bowens daughter) and the Pentecostal of Holiness church was going door to door calling on people and singing as they walked from house to house. My dads great grandfather, Mr. Bowen said, Ill tell you one thing. Ill never be a part of that bunch right there. Theyre a bunch of nuts going around town singing out loud like that.He immediately lost his voice and couldnt speak for a full 7 days. He got under conviction and went down the the Pentecostal of Holiness church and they prayed for him and his voice was immediately restored. He was saved and sanctified and was a Pentecostal until the day he died. I am eternally grateful for the PH Church and Pastor Rick Madron because they are part of the reason Im saved today because that man, Mr. Bowens daughter, Elsie Bowen Robinson stained the altars of the Nazarene church with her tears and prayers for her son, Meredith that he might find The Lord Jesus and Meredith not only found Him, but gave his life to preaching the message of holiness. My parents were married at that same altar and today I have the overwhelming privilege of preaching from that pulpit. And it started with a group of men and women from the Pentecostal of Holiness Church who were obeying the call of God as they went house to house singing and telling of the cleansing blood of Jesus. Thankful for our brothers and sisters of the PH Church today who are still obeying that call. We consider it an honor to serve alongside you in this great mission. I wonder what stories our great grandchildren will tell of us?
