My dad was a sixties gear head. He was, by profession, an engineer. He drove a hyper modified nifty fifty on what passed for street drags in the Poconos (a mountain range in the eastern part of the US). For about two years, he had the only street racer that used Nitrous Oxide (NOx) in several counties. Dad built the NOx system with the help of a local machinist, because they werent available commercially. His car had four point seat belts stolen from a military glider that was (no joke) sold as surplus, and used as a chicken house in the mid fifties. One of my earliest memories was watching this movie with my parents. I remember (and probably am imagining) a lot of significant looks between my mom and my dad when they watched this scene. The movie was directed by a guy named George Lucas. See if you can spot a familiar actor driving a hot rod. Some girls like a hot car, but more girls like a hot driver. youtube/watch?v=z2OoxzYqgNY
